… and she’s just the girl to do it. That’s Kris Carr, a brave warrior woman who is living with a really scary cancer, but decided to meet it on its own terms, and keep living in the meantime. “Crazy Sexy Cancer” (the subject line of e-mails she sent to her friends early on) is the name of the documentary she made about her journey on The Learning Channel Wednesday night at 8; there’s also a book, “Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips,” that should be must reading for anyone with cancer or anyone who loves her. Find out more about Kris and the book in my column today, and head over to Kris’s blog to find out more. (Not much there right now about her “cancerlebrity” — Kris’s words to me in an interview – but Donna Karan is hosting the book party.) Why so cool? It’s a Skirt! book — same as the magazine I’m editing that’ll be out in October in Memphis. Can’t wait for you to see both the book and the magazine. Watch the film, read the book, and tell me what you think.
p.s. Special thanks to Jennifer Sedory for letting me tell her story in my column, and to the most optimistic cancer survivor I know, Pat McRee, for helping me make sense of it all, again.
