Maybe you heard: The CA newsroom was the scene of a few days of filming last month for the upcoming movie “Nothing But the Truth,” based on the Judith Miller/Valerie Plame CIA spy case. Along with great celeb scoping and a new glass-walled conference room, we got a good look at what kind of wardrobe makes what kind of movie character, which reporter Barbara Bradley wrote about in Sunday’s M section. Kate Beckinsale, complete with ponytail, was dressed to look “cool and cerebral” as a reporter (that’s KayBee talking to director Rod Lurie, who also plays the newspaper’s managing editor … in a tie?),
and Angela Bassett — pictured here in an Ellen Tracy dress waiting for her cue, reading a copy of Playbook — was the paper’s Editor-in-Chief, dressed to look like “a player.”
Let’s just say this: If an African-American woman were the editor of The Commercial Appeal, she’d need to be a player and then some. Though how totally cool would that be?
I know the movie continues filming around Memphis … anyone seen stars? Where? What were they wearing?
